Robinson Takes 3rd in CCS…Going to State!

On Friday-Saturday Gunn sent six Titans to the Girls’ Central Coast Section Championships at Oak Grove High School in San Jose.  Of the six, junior Julia Laws (137) and senior Ruby Robinson (121) made it to “Day-Two.”  Robinson led the Titans with her 3rd place finish, which qualified her to the California state championships in Visalia on February 24-25.  Gunn finished 21st out of 86 teams.  Menlo Atherton won the team title followed by second-place Terra Nova.

Gunn got nine more pins and has now amassed 107 so far this season.  This marks the 14th year in a row that Gunn has claimed at least one CCS medalist in wrestling. 

Up Next:

On Wednesday the Titans host the Milpitas Trojans at 5:30 p.m. in Bow Gym.  This will be the final dual meet of the season.  The JV and Varsity SCVAL Championships follow on Friday-Saturday, February 10-11 at Fremont High School.  Wrestling starts at 11:00 a.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
